Ho'oponopono

Ho'oponopono is a traditional Hawaiian practice of reconciliation and forgiveness.  The word "ho'oponopono" can be translated as "to make right" or "to rectify an problem".  It is a process that aims to restore harmony and balance in relationships, including the relationship with oneself.  This process involves acknowledging and taking responsibility for one's own thoughts, actions, and their impact on others as well as oneself.  It emphasized the belief that we are all interconnected, and by healing ourselves we contribute to the healing of others and the world.

This practice typically involves a group or family gathering, facilitated by a kahuna (spiritual leader) where participants openly express their feelings and concerns.  Through discussion and forgiveness, and sincere apologies, the goal is to resolve conflicts, release negative emotions, and restore peace and unity within the group.

During my work with clients, I help them to understand the basis of Ho'oponopono, and we use the phrases of "I'm sorry, please forgive me, thank you, and I love you.  These phrases are a way to release negative energy, heal relationships, and cultivate inner peace.  Many people have seen the benefits from this practice, including myself.
